How do I fix a game launch problem?
If your game fails to open or gets stuck on the loading screen, follow these steps to resolve the issue.
1. Reset the Cache
Resetting the cache is the most effective way to fix launch errors. It clears temporary files that might be corrupted without deleting your game data.
- Open Settings on the Plarium Play sidebar.
- Select the System Preferences tab.
- Click the Reset Cache button.
2. Run as Administrator
Sometimes your computer prevents the game from opening due to restricted permissions:
- Right-click the game icon on your desktop.
- Select Run as administrator.
3. Perform a Fresh Reinstall
If resetting the cache doesn't help, some game files may be missing or broken. A fresh installation will replace them:
Go to My Library.
Click the Three Dots (...) next to the Play button for your game.
Select Uninstall.
Once the process is finished, click the Install button to download a clean version of the game.
Advanced Technical Fixes
If the game still won't launch, your computer may need updated software to run the game properly:
- Update your GPU Drivers: Download the latest software for your graphics card from Nvidia, AMD, or Intel.
- Update your system: Ensure your OS is up to date by checking for updates in your system settings.
- Install Frameworks: Make sure you have the latest .NET Framework and Visual C++ Redistributable installed.
