How can I fix issues with launching Plarium Play?
If the Plarium Play launcher fails to open, freezes on startup, or displays an installation error, follow the step-by-step troubleshooting guide below to resolve the issue.
Step 1: Run Plarium Play as Administrator
Restricted user permissions in Windows can prevent Plarium Play background services from starting:
1. Close Plarium Play completely from the Taskbar / System Tray.
2. Right-click the Plarium Play shortcut on your desktop.
3. Select Run as administrator.
Step 2: Check System Requirements & Disk Space
Verify that your computer meets basic system requirements:
- Free Storage: Ensure you have at least 5–10 GB of free space on your primary drive for launcher updates and temp files.
- Installation Path Restrictions: The folder name where Plarium Play is installed must not contain special symbols (such as #, &, µ) or unusual spaces.
- Windows Version: Windows 7, 8, and 8.1 are no longer supported. Update your operating system to the latest version of Windows 10 or 11.
Step 3: Temporarily Disable or Whitelist in Antivirus
Antivirus or firewall software can mistakenly quarantine launcher components:
1. Open your antivirus or Windows Defender settings.
2. Add the Plarium Play installation folder to your antivirus Exclusions / Whitelist list.
3. Temporarily disable your antivirus protection and attempt to launch the app again.
Step 4: Perform a Fresh Reinstallation of Plarium Play
If the launcher files are corrupted, perform a full reinstallation. You can check this article for instructions.
